It’s just after 6:30 in the evening and a tornado touches ground in southern Clay County. It’s a brief touchdown, but enough to cause havoc on the county highway garage and a nearby agricultural site located along Meridian Road. Buildings at both locations are damaged, dump trucks and heavy equipment have been thrown around like Tinkertoys and that’s not the worst of it: The agricultural site to the north took a direct hit, throwing anhydrous tanks into the air releasing a vapor cloud, overturned other tanks filled with 50,000 gallons of flammable fuels that have spilled out on the ground endangering a water source and among the farthest tanks, filled with propane, one has exploded and another is in danger.. ...
