The next Staunton Community Center Dinner, prepared by the Lady Volunteers, will be on Friday June 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. This month’s menu features Chicken and Noodles, along with mashed potatoes, green beans, garden salad, homemade rolls, dessert, and coffee, tea, or lemonade. The price remains $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. As always, profits will be used for worthy causes in our community...

Chaplain Doug Givan has some nerve

I was diagnosed this week by my neurologist as having (severe) Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)! Essentially, a nerve is pinched in the wrist area where surgery can make a correction! I will be referred to a Hand and Wrist surgeon, and look forward to feeling better afterwards. This surgery (usually) is out-patient with specific care the incision does not re-open while in recovery. One hand will be done at a time, about 3-4 weeks apart depending...

Ian Tellechea, possibly the only Clay County resident participating in the Special Olympics Indiana’s Summer Games in Terre Haute this weekend, welcomed his own support team to the games. Members of Clay County law enforcement stopped by to visit with Tellechea at Indiana State University Friday, including Clay County Sheriff’s Department, including Detective Jerry Siddens, Sergeant Jason Frazier, and Deputy Eric Oberholtzer, joined with Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Matt Vossmer as well as spectators Clay County Sheriff Paul Harden and Chief Deputy Josh Clarke.. ...
