The Knights strung together a 16-4 record with a team that featured six freshman amongst the top-12 in minutes played. Two others were sophomores in that top-12. The July Community Center Dinner, prepared by the Lady Volunteers, will be next Friday (July 20) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. This month’s menu features Beef Manhattan with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, broccoli cauliflower salad, dessert, and coffee, tea, or lemonade. Clay County Post 2 can't solve Newman equation in regional opening loss

By CAREY FOX Times Sports Editor Clay County’s junior American Legion team couldn’t solve the puzzle that was Wayne Newton Post 346 pitcher Ethan Newman on Friday night. In the opening game of the postseason regional best-of-three tournament, Newman pitched a complete game shutout as Post 346 took a 7-0 victory. The teams will play at 5 p.m. tonight with a second game slated for 7 p.m. if needed...
