Another historic building demolished

These are two views of a historic building at the corner of Meridian and Jackson streets in Brazil. It had partially caved in when the owner of the convenience store next to it on National Avenue hired Shaun McIntire to demolish the building. Inside, Shaun said he found a car lift and a sign that said “Dodge.” McIntire said the building was built to be a car dealership and later became a liquor store before it became the offices of John & John plumbing. ...

Reorganization may be coming to Extension office

Northview adds Aubrey Washburn to its cross country coaching staff

Over the weekend, Northview girls cross country coach Tim Rayle announced the program added Aubrey Washburn to its coaching staff. It had been a long time coming, Rayle said when asked about Washburn’s coming aboard. “Coach [James] Grounds and I have been in discussions for months about recruiting women to join the coaching staffs,” he said. “Based upon our experiences in coaching youth, we would estimate the total number of female coaches to be around 20 to 30 percent.”...
