Carbon, Indiana Charles “Zeb” Zebedee Mullenix, 95, went to meet his Lord on September 5, 2020 at his home. He was born in Carbon, on March 17, 1925 to the late Ross Jack and Ella (Dalton) Mullenix. Veterans Memorial defaced

Clay County Veterans, friends and family members were alarmed to learn the new Veterans Memorial next to the softball diamond at Craig Park (left) had been defaced in recent days. Gravel was strewn over the brick walkway to the memorial (center) and someone had used what appeared to be a permanent marker on one of the benches. It is not known who the culprit was or if the black marker can be cleaned off the cement bench...

School board plans three meetings Thursday

Thursday evening will be a busy night for the Clay Community School Board of Trustees. They tackle three separate meetings in the Central Administrative Office’s Board Room, 1013 S. Forest Avenue. The first special session meeting starts at 6:15 p.m. This is a teacher collective bargaining public hearing, which the public is invited to attend.
