UPDATED - Vacant house fire under investigation

A Wednesday vacant house fire is under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office (ISFMO). The Brazil Fire Department responded to the scene at 9:16 a.m. to a vacant house in foreclosure at 410 North Forest Avenue. Brazil Fire Chief Jake Bennett said the large multi-level house was consumed inside by heavy thick black smoke from the top floor to the basement, which is why three fire engines responded along with off-duty firefighters to the scene.
