What was your favorite Mother's Day present?

Tuesday, June 5, 2007

The gift of an afternoon. They went fishing and left me home alone. That was my gift: To be left alone. -- Laurie Bernhardt of Cape Girardeau

My children typed up on the computer what they said were the 10 best things about me as Mom. They said things like "she scratches my back before I go to bed," and "she cooks the best meals, most days." They used clip art and printed it out. I framed it and have it on my desk at home. -- Donna Sanders of Cape Girardeau

The favorite thing that sticks out in my mind is a little piece of white cardboard. Erica made it in day care -- she must have been 2 or 3 -- and it has her handprints on it. It has a little pink ribbon on it. I have it in our fire safe. It's so cute. -- Lori Scott of Cape Girardeau

My favorite Mother's Day ever was when I had Ethan, my second baby. My husband bought jewelry that symbolized my three children; it has a ruby in the center and a diamond on both sides. He said the diamonds were our two children and the ruby symbolized our love. -- Jerra Hutson of Cape Girardeau
