Brush fire stirred by winds

Brazil City Police Officer Andy Whittington assists an unidentified fireman at a brush fire, whipped by spring breezes, directly south of Yankee Rose Landscaping and Nurseries on SR 59 South. Twenty-five acres of land was in the path of the fire, but it was not known at press time how much land had burned. The brush fire started Tuesday at about 2 p.m., according to Randy Bourff, Yankee Rose owner. Brazil City Fire Department responded, but required brush tanker assistance from at least two other volunteer departments. No further information was available at press time.
