To the Editor:

This letter is to all the wonderful people, both residents and nonresidents of Brazil, who donated to our "Walk for Crohn's" Foundation recently, in September and October.

Thanks to our little hometown, we raised a sizable donation for Crohn's relief. Our locals and all others who gave did so generously.

As many of you know, my brother Dean Young, is running a 13K Marathon in December to show his support for Crohn's relief. He has been preparing for months, while dealing with all the life altering complications of this painfully trying disease. He has had Crohn's his entire life. Dean gives so much to family and this community and has been doing so for 54 years.

My feeling is we all should support our local community in any way possible.

Therefore, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our mayor, Ann Bradshaw, who went above and beyond her duty to help us; to the clerk's office for their assistance; to Shaw Chiropractic, Brazilian Lanes and Office Depot for their sponsorship along with all the people who donated time and money to make our fundraiser a success.

We thank you all so very much.

My brother, Dean Young, is an amazing man. I am so proud of him. I feel if he can run a 13K Marathon to fight for a cause he has dealt with for so many years, then the least I can do is honor him by helping to raise money for a cure in the near future.

Thanks again Clay County and surrounding areas for helping this cause that affects us all in some form and eventually.

Someone you know has Crohn's.

Molly McKenzie,

Brazil
