East Side Elementary School first-grader Tyler Heading (below) listens intently as Alan Ewer (right) discusses how to take care of horses. Tyler is the son of Jeremy and Amy Heading, Brazil. Ewer visited East Side Tuesday morning as part of Saddle Up And Read Buckaroo, a government fundamental grant program his wife, Marilyn Ewer, who also serves as the school's librarian, helped concoct. The two brought their 8-year-old Gelding quarter horse, Boomer, to the school Tuesday and spoke with students. They also planned to make a trip to Meridian Elementary School later in the day.
