To the Editor:

Living up to their reputation as the "Soaring Eagles," safe, organized, accountable and respectful ways, the staff and students at East Side Elementary School gave our son, Parker Timberman, a remarkable surprise on his last day of school.

They generously collected $400 to go toward Parker's camp fees to attend Camp Riley, once again this summer.

Due to surgeries Parker had last year, he was unable to attend and is looking forward to the outdoor experience this summer.

This summer, his camp is geared toward the "Fear Factor," theme in which Parker is thrilled to experience.

Nothing is too challenging for him and he always gives his all in participating.

Camp Riley is sponsored and funded through generous donations, like the children and staff of East Side, to help give "special children," like Parker an opportunity to experience daily activities that are not always available for them.

For more information on camp, or how to give donations, feel free to contact Camp Riley at 1-877-867-4539 or you can contact Me, Beth Timberman, at 812-878-0081.

For other children with special needs, this is a wonderful opportunity and we always are willing to help gear up fundraisers to help give these children a special experience.

Once again, thank you all so much at East Side.

This will be something Parker will never forget.

This also shows our community another wonderful outreach performed by the children and staff of our Clay Community Schools.

With grateful thanks,

T.G., Beth and Parker Timberman,

Center Point
