To the Editor:

May 28-29 marked the inaugural Brazil Main Street, Ind., "Rock Brazil Streetfest," featuring 14 free bands, a free bounce house, beer garden, and local vendors over the two-day event.

Situated right downtown at the intersection of Washington and Jackson, the event was designed to draw attention to the historic downtown area and the many great restaurants, taverns and merchants who make downtown their home.

For a first event, the attendance was great and most all feedback from the attendees was positive.

Thanks to the community for supporting the event.

Brazil Main Street, Inc., would also like to thank Mayor Ann Bradshaw, the Brazil City Police Department, TransCare, Duke Energy, Riddell National Bank, Bee Creek Brewery, Wallace Brothers Disposal, A1 Sanitation, Wilson-Tech, Brian Archer, Gerald Long, Trent Godsey and Gary Reckert for their great support and assistance.

Special thanks goes to the bands who made it a success, including Jason Wendell, Big Dead Bird, Dicky James and the Blue Flames, Flash Point, Dave Henry, P-150, Jason Moon, King Rlo, Lady Luck, Dead Giveaway, Buster Cherry, Ida Mae Sheriff, Midwest Playboys and Triggerhead.

And finally, thanks to the local vendors who provided food and fun for all, including, but not limited to, Wagener, 3M, Coffman, Rymlinger, Martin, Maysha Lavender, Marcus Bunch, Steve Gilbert, Dennis Boothby and Kat Herniter.

Brazil Main Street meets the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., at the Brazil Public Library, and we encourage anyone interested in the downtown area to join us and participate.

We are already planning a follow-up festival to occur at the end of summer and will appreciate the fresh ideas that new members can bring.

Thanks again,

Zac Chambers, President,

Tony Harper, Vice President, and

Teresa Chaney, Secretary/Treasurer
