Mayor thankful for thoughtful response for fire

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all firefighters from each department that responded to the fire on North Walnut Street.

It was amazing to watch how they came together as a team.

I would also like to thank the many people who came forth with drinks and ice, the businesses that donated items for our firefighters and the people who helped cool the firemen with ice packs.

Every person involved knew exactly what to do and helped to keep all firemen safe.

The city is blessed to have such dedicated men on the department and I am proud of them.

Volunteer departments also have many dedicated men and women and I am proud of them as well. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Brazil City Police Department and Search and Rescue for all of your assistance.

To the family, I am sorry for your loss. God be with you and know this community does come together in time of need to help each other.
