Those who helped with the Byron and Lisa Halfhill (front, from left) Charity Ride Aug. 14 included (back, from left) David Funk (representing the American Legion Riders), Mark Buckingham (representing Bucks House of Color), and Randy Kaelber (representing the American Legion Riders).

To the Editor:

We would like to thank all the sponsors and all who turned out to make the Halfhill Charity Ride a success.

There were four stops along the ride. First was in Rosedale at the Knuckle Head Saloon. From there, it was on to the 36 Saloon in Rockville, Toppers in Greencastle, Skidrow in Spencer, and back to the American Legion in Brazil.

Lisa got her first-ever Harley ride, leading them back from Spencer.

"IT was one of the best days we've had in a long time," Lisa said.

Once the riders made it back, door prizes were distributed and the auction winners claimed their items.

The ride brought in a total of $1,168 for Byron and Lisa.

If you would like to make a contribution to help with medical expenses, there is an account at the Riddell National Bank set up in their name. Byron is to go to Indy next week for a Stem Cell Transplant.
