Think before throwing away

To the Editor:

I was recently walking with my fiancée and as we passed by the cable office, we noticed that they were throwing out their remotes.

My fiancée mentioned of batteries in them. We took a look.

Of the dozen or so remotes I opened, nine had batteries in them. It seems that a lot of people do not recycle.

I don't know the procedure to recycling batteries, but I do know that Radio Shack will recycle them for you. I also believe that they will recycle the remote as well as other electronic devices.

It may not be very much as one place, but if one place will set the bar a little higher, hopefully the rest will catch up.
