CCS thanks public

To the Editor:

On behalf of the students and teachers of Clay Community Schools, I would like to thank the community for participating in the United Way's "Stuff the Bus" school supplies drive held at the Brazil Walmart Aug. 9, 2011.

Thoughtful patrons did indeed "stuff" hundreds of dollars of classroom instructional materials including notebooks, crayons, glue and pencils and hygiene products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, bandages and tissue into a bus provided by and supervised by the Clay Community Transportation Department.

These materials will be distributed to all schools for distribution to students in need.

Thanks to the United Way and Troy Fears for bringing this very successful project to our attention.

The generosity of the people of Clay County and surrounding areas is so appreciated and will help so many students get off to a great start with the school year.
