Thieves had bad timing

Sunday, December 18, 2011

To the Editor:

We woke up Saturday morning to find that someone had stolen our truck and some tools right out of our driveway.

I know that times are hard, but that doesn't give anyone the right to feel free to come onto someone's property and take what you want.

We feel violated and this has left us in a bind.

We are honest and don't purposely hurt other people.

It is a shame that everyone doesn't have those same set of values.

Unfortunately, we don't have the money to replace what was taken from us.

We have been trying to get the word out trying to find our truck by putting the description in the Hoosier Free Ads.

The good thing that has come out of this is that a very kind person responded to our ad telling us that if needed, he had a truck and would be willing to help us out by driving us to get things we needed and had some tools we could borrow if needed.

Mind you, this is a complete stranger to us.

This act of kindness pulled at our heart strings knowing that there are still good people in this world willing to help a complete stranger in this time of need.

If anyone sees a 1995 burgundy with a white stripe Ford F150 king cab with the front grill and one headlight missing, please call the Brazil City Police so maybe we can get our truck back.

This vehicle might not be the best, but it is our only form of transportation.

Herschell Burris,

Brazil
