Basketball squad and pink

To the Editor:

During the 2011-12 basketball season, the Clay City High School girls' team has been wearing pink basketball shoes.

They chose the pink shoes to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.

The team also asked the community to further support the cause by making sponsorship donations during the home basketball games, with all donations benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation Wabash Valley Affiliate.

The generosity of the community for this worthwhile cause has been beyond amazing. The team would like to thank everyone for their support of the Komen Foundation, as well as the Lady Eels.

The family, friends, businesses and fans make Clay City a great place.

Please join the Lady Eels Friday, Feb. 3, as they officially present the Komen Foundation with the donation.
