More questions on festival

To the Editor:

We have only lived in Brazil for about eight years.

I came from Florida and we never had festivals, so when we moved here, I thought it was great.

To hear that the Popcorn Festival will not be going on anymore is very sad.

I also get that the alcohol situation was the reason.

If more volunteers were needed, my children and myself would gladly volunteer, but I don't remember reading an advertisement asking for volunteers.

I have some questions about this situation:

* Are these the only people able to create the Popcorn Festival or can others come in and get one going,

* Aren't these people that disbanded the festival in a group that part of the job description is the planning of festivals, and

* Can we replace the committee unwilling to keep the festival going?
