Letter to the Editor

Would like mother's pedestal returned

Sunday, October 6, 2013

To the Editor:

Why take something that doesn't belong to you?

On Tuesday morning, Sept. 24, when I looked out our front window to see my mother's pedestal with dark blue globe, they were both gone.

I had them tied down to concrete blocks so they wouldn't blow over.

The blocks didn't help when you decided to take them.

We found the blocks beside the house.

Mother used to have them, angels and other things, in her beautiful flower garden.

We lost her a little more than a year ago.

I have and had a few of her outside ornaments.

They remind me of her smiling face when she was outside working in her flower garden and yard.

I know these things will not bring my mother back, but I would like them back.

If you bring them back, nothing will be done.

This isn't the first time something has been taken from our yard.

It happens at least once or twice a year.

Mini-rose bush from my husband, a butterfly light from my sister, driveway and landscape lights.

Why? When is it going to stop?

Nancy Bryan,
