To the Editor:

Last Wednesday, Oct. 23, my Boxer, Hoss, went missing.

And I was out of my mind with worry. I searched, called and passed out flyers. On Sunday, Oct. 27, we found him. While searching for him, my family and I went door to door and stopped people who were out and about to ask if anyone had seen him.

Everyone we talked to took time out from their lives to express genuine concern and compassion and wished me good luck and good thoughts.

People took time to call either with tips or just to check if he was home yet.

I would like to say from my family and myself thank you.

Being in the pain I was in, the kindness of strangers really made me feel like there was hope.

And I would like to give a special thank you to the young man who gave us the first tip and the girls who called and said they had seen him around Forest Park (Elementary) School, which is where we found him.

If these girls would call me, I would like to thank them personally.

I would like to close this letter by saying that the kindness of strangers has given me another reason to be glad I live in Brazil, Ind.

Thank you all again,

The Durbin Family,

Brazil
