NARFE president highlights legislative effort

Governor Pence of Indiana signed a bill in May 2015 to increase deductions on State taxation of Civil Service annuities. All Federal Civil Service retirees and survivors who reside in Indiana are eligible for these deductions. The deductions are $8,000 retroactive to January 1, 2015 and $16,000 beginning in 2016.

The bill's passage was a joint effort by the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) and several Indiana State legislators. NARFE is a membership-based organization dedicated solely to protecting the earned benefits of active and retired federal employees.
