To the editor:

Brazil Main Street continues to look to the future and the many opportunities that await us with the completion of our street renovations. While this season has brought us challenges on our blitz and flower projects, we appreciate the businesses and individuals who have supported us through this period. In the areas we were able to place and then maintain flower barrels, the color and plants helped brighten the landscape. We look forward to new flower barrels and some great landscaping ideas when the construction is completed.

Brazil Main Street meets monthly at First Farmer's Bank at 5:30 p.m. Our intent is to beautify and encourage business participation in projects that will benefit the entire community and its population. Our blitz projects this year have been limited a bit by road construction. However, we did complete a blitz painting job at the Allstate Insurance office and assisted with painting the gazebo located by the museum. Also we were able to assist at the Historical Society's "Night at the Museum" serving popcorn and drinks as well as a successful movie night for the community in Forest Park. In addition we have completed landscaping by the new mural on East National and new lighting will soon follow. Discussion and designs are also under way for new flower barrels and trash receptacles along National Avenue upon the completion of the road project.

A clean attractive community is not only a more pleasant place to live and work, but the value of a good impression on prospective employers, professionals and others who visit should never be underestimated. Our motto in Brazil Main Street is "Love you community- Join- Volunteer- Participate."

We would like to thank the following businesses that sponsored flower barrels for the 2015 season: Brazil Housing Authority, Clay County Historical Museum, Lindsey Lunsford Edward Jones, Toni Carter Edward Jones, Brazil Family Dentistry, French Funeral Homes, Goodwill, H& R Block, Halie Hite Memorial Scholarship, J. Moore Properties, Miller & Stewart Accounting, Moore Funeral Home, Pages IGA, Pappy's -- Rick Bell, Premier Tax Services, Reberger Cleaners, Shear Image Salon, State Farm John Howes, Terre Haute Savings Bank, Yankee Rose Landscaping, Anonymous Donors.

We thank each of these 2015 donors and encourage the participation of former and new members to join Brazil Main Street. Help us to carry on with our motto, "Love your community- Join- Volunteer- Participate."
