LEGENDS owners say thanks for response to burglary

To the editor:

Just wanted to take a moment to post a very heartfelt thank you to everyone for helping in finding out who broke into our shop so quickly. First to the Brazil City Police Department and especially Detective Bass and the other officers, for alerting us of the break in, getting the surveillance photos out to the media so quickly, and working long hours to resolve this so fast. Also, for the outstanding coverage from WTHI-TV in Terre Haute and Alia for covering the story and the Brazil Times for their article in the paper. As soon as the story started airing calls began coming in to the Police Department and to us. To take the time and call and file reports was what resolved this so quickly. Lots of young people also stepped up and helped to identify these two young men. Also we appreciate the other businesses here in town supplying us with additional videos from their parking lots. There has been an overwhelming outpouring of messages here on Facebook of people offering encouragement and checking Classified sites to see if any of the items were being posted. All of this support help to speed up the break in the case.

These two young men allegedly involved did not take time to think of the consequences of their actions early Sunday morning and were very careless, and quickly the clues started pointing their way. They have devastated their families and friends the week before Christmas, having their homes searched by detectives late into the night looking for stolen property. They have a hard lesson to learn ahead of them. We have no ideal and probably will not know for a few months how much was actually recovered.

As with most small business owners we have poured our savings into this and we invest what we make right back into trying to improve the business. Having a business in downtown Brazil has been a challenge this year with the road construction, and then to have a break in right before Christmas. Got to look ahead

to the improvements that are happening downtown and the businesses starting to open here. Just have to keep the faith and we wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a better New Year.
