Firefighters extinguish vehicle blaze

Members of the Brazil City Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed car fire east of the intersection of S.R. 59 and Ridge Street shortly after 4 p.m. Monday. The owner advised officials the vehicle's fan motor began to smoke during a short drive in Brazil and he pulled it over on Ridge Street. After walking to a nearby garage to get a fire extinguisher, the owner said the vehicle caught fire. "Extreme weather like we're having right now can make a motor problem already there become worse," Assistant Fire Chief Tobey Archer said after the fire was put out.
