Mary Frances Heller, 78, of Terre Haute passed away Monday June 6, 2016 at 4:10 pm in Westminster Rehabilitation Center. She was a retired LPN. Mary was born August 9, 1937 in Clark County, IL to Gilbert Lee and Ernesteen (Bryant) Lee. She is survived by daughters, Tammy Terry (Greg) of Paris, IL and Toni Johnson of Terre Haute; a son, Terry Lee Johnson (Debi) of Belleville, IL; a special friend, Beth Truax, who was like a daughter to her; step-daughters, Debra DeBaun (Curt III) of West Terre Haute and Brenda Musselman (John) of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Higgs of Belleville, IL, Christina Johnson-Swafford of Cabot, AK, and Erin Terry of Paris, IL; step-grandchildren, Curtis DeBaun IV, Seth DeBaun, Asia DeBaun, Maddie DeBaun, Sallie DeBaun, Pauline DeBaun, Shelby Musselman, and Ashley Musselman; 6 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren; an aunt, June Pitzenbarger; a uncle, Walter Wayne Bryant; a brother-in-law, Ken Steigerwald; other special friends, Vicky Clark, Wilma Sellers, and Vonda Otey and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Francis Heller, who died April 19, 1994 and a sister, Patricia Steigerwald. Mary was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, a 1956 graduate of Honey Creek High School, a member of the Red Hat Society and a proud supporter of ISU Basketball. Visitation will be Thursday June 9, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services on Friday June 10, 2016 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery. The family suggest that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to either, Terre Haute Humane Society or Relay for Life in Mary's memory. The family would also like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Westminster Rehabilitation Center, the Hux Cancer Center and Towne South Monical's Pizza and staff for their wonderful care and compassion.
