Poor decision to shoot the birds

Sunday, February 5, 2017

To the editor:

Just curious. Why couldn’t the “flock” {3} of turkeys been relocated? I have been by the school dozens of times when the birds were there with people, and never saw any aggressive movements from them. Have seen students and adults walking and talking with the turkeys and didn’t see any problems.

True they could be a pain with the driving but is this a reason for them to be shot? Poor decision in my mind and a sad event for the birds and the many people that enjoyed them being around. Would just like a logical reason why they had to be destroyed and how the child was being attacked by the birds.

Thanks.
