Keeping it clean
Keeping the streets clean in Brazil is a daily job. Workers from the City of Brazil are out almost every day with the street sweeper, depending upon the weather, in some part of the city. Street sweepers help clear the more than 50 miles of city streets of debris, including sediment, rubbish, metals, petroleum products and green waste (grass/leaves) which cleans gutters and reduces the likelihood of these pollutants entering storm water systems. Keeping gutters and storm drains clear helps reduce flooding in the event of heavy rain.
