Water project Tennessee St

Friday, February 8, 2019

Crews from the Brazil City Water Department are close to completing the first phase of installing a new 6-inch water main along the northern part of East Tennessee Street. The new water line will run from State Road 59 east to Alabama when completed and have a new water hydrant in place in the neighborhood. Once the new hydrant is installed and charged, customers will be added to the line from 59 to Lambert. Then the second phase of the project on Tennessee street will continue toward Alabama. According to Water Superintendent Corky West, crews have been working throughout the winter months in an effort to complete the project in time for the street to be paved in the Spring. West confirmed the same type of work was recently completed along Church street earlier this year. Motorists are urged to find an alternate route of travel while the work is being completed.
