The Clay County Courthouse is located at 609 East National Avenue, Brazil. The Clay County Treasurer’s office is located on the first floor of the building.

First installment

is due Friday

The Clay County Treasurer’s office mailed tax bills to property owners on March 27, 2019. Please contact the Treasurer’s office at 812-448-9009 if you have not received your tax bill.

The first installment of property tax is due on Friday, May 10th, 2019.

Normal business hours for the Treasurer’s office are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Treasurer’s office will have the following extended office hours for the Spring collection:

Saturday, May 4, 2019 8:00 a.m. – Noon

Friday, May 10, 2019 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.

Tax payments will also be accepted with your tax statement at the following Clay County Banks:

First Farmers Bank & Trust

First Financial Bank

Riddell National Bank

Terre Haute Savings Bank

No Primary Election on Tuesday

The Clay County Courthouse will be closed on Election Day, Tuesday, May 4th.
