CLUB NEWS: Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority holds meeting

The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority was held June 18, 2019, in the Pine Room of the First United Methodist Church.  President Kim Emmert O’Dell called the meeting to order with opening ceremony. 

Recording Secretary Cindy McKinney called roll with 17 members present.  Two members were excused. 

Minutes from the May meeting were read.  Janice Modesitt motioned to approve as corrected.

 Treasurer Patti Foxx gave the treasurer’s report and bills were presented for payment.

 

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES:

 

Philanthropy – For May, Nicole Tipton said gift cards were purchased for CRADLES.  For June, Melissa McCullough purchased needed items for the Food Pantry and Michelle Bell reported the Humane Shelter requested their donation be used for animals to be spayed or neutered.  A photo op will be scheduled to present the check. 

Chapter Welfare – Diane Braden reported that birthday, anniversary and sympathy cards were sent.

 Fundraisers – Michelle Bell reported the profit for geraniums.  The Delt Dash will be rescheduled from July to September.

 Philanthropy Report update – Kim Emmert O’Dell reported the report was amended to change the order of monthly giving. 

Ways & Means – Report tabled until the August meeting.

 Audit – Michelle Bell and Shannon Loughmiller presented the report for February through May 2019.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

National Convention – Delegate fees have been paid. 

Budget Report – An adjustment will be made for one item.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Recording Secretary Jennifer Flater read communication from Main Street Community Cares Campaign and thank you notes from CRADLES, Usborne Books, and North Clay Student Council. 

Donations were made to a Girl Scout cadet working on her silver award, McKinley Hill Hoosier HISteria, Northview Band Boosters, Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivors, YMCA, First United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church. 

The executive officers will host the Birthday Dinner on July 23, 2019.

The meeting was closed with the Delt closing ceremony.
