Brazil woman wins $10,000 in Rotary drawing

Rotary President Chad Schopmeyer calls Phyllis Peterson to tell her she won the $10,000 Grand Prize.

Phyllis Peterson of Brazil said she was excited to learn she had won the Brazil Rotary Club’s $10,000 grand prize on the night of July 4th.

“I was screaming,” she said when Rotary President Chad Schopmeyer told her she won. “It was thrilling.”

She said she hadn’t had time to think what she might do with the money but she would share it with her husband, John.

John “just looked stunned,” when she told him she won.

Schopmeyer said he planned to present the check to Phyllis at an upcoming Rotary Club meeting.
