Motorists, watch out for detours
Motorists traveling through Clay County need to be prepared in case they come upon one of several road closures due to work crews by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). This detour is located on State Road 59, just south of County Road 1100 N., which is north of Brazil. Work crews from Crider and Crider, Inc. are pictured replacing a small structure and repairing pipelines on SR 59. The official detour follows U.S. 40 to U.S. 231 to U.S. 36 and back to S.R. 59, with the road scheduled to be reopened Sept 24.
INDOT reminds motorists to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
