CLUBS: Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority
Alpha Delta Kappa is a sorority for women educators who are actively teaching or retired.
Alpha Delta Kappa members enjoyed hearing some interesting historical information about Clay County. Robert Hostetler provided the presentation and shared several photos with us at our May 1st meeting at the R.E.I.N. Library in Clay City.
On June 13th, twelve Alpha Delta Kappa members enjoyed our Xi chapter road trip. We met at Rita Roseís house to view her garden which is filled with a variety of flowers, bushes, and plants. Next, we headed to Danville, IN for lunch at the Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery. We enjoyed the outdoors by dining on their front porch. Following our lunch, we headed to Avon Gardens and toured their outdoor gardens and shops. We learned that Avon Gardens also serves as a wedding venue. On our return trip, several members stopped by The Red Raccoon in Rockville for some shopping before heading home.
Members from Xi chapter of Clay County, and Chi and Omicron chapters in Terre Haute enjoyed their July Luncheon meeting at Monicalís Pizza on S. St. Rd. 46, in Terre Haute. The meeting was hosted by Omicron chapter. Our guest speaker was Michael Egy from the Loyal Veterans Battalion who shared information regarding help for our area homeless Veterans.
Also in July, several Alpha Delta Kappa members are preparing to attend the International Convention which is being held in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We wish them safe travels.
In August, chapter officers will be meeting with the State Officers and Committee Chairmen in Indianapolis at the MCL Restaurant & Bakery on 86th Street. Our first meeting of the 2019-20 school year is scheduled for September 4, 2019.
