TODAY: Back to School Open Houses

School starts Wednesday

The Clay Community School Corporation arranges for students and families to have some time before the big day to get to know their school and teachers better during Open Houses. This year the Elementary Open House Schedule for Monday, Aug. 5th is as follows:

• Clay City Elementary: Open House will begin in the gym at 6 p.m. There will be a PTO meeting in the cafeteria at 7 p.m. following the Open House.

• East Side Elementary: From 5:30–6 p.m. Parent meeting in the Gym; 6–6:30. Parents needing Kindergarten Informational Meetings can select between 3 p.m. or 4 p.m.

• Forest Park Elementary: From 4:30–5:30 p.m. Class lists will be posted and teachers should be available to meet with students.

• Jackson Township Elementary: From 6–7 p.m. Open House will begin in the gym at 6 p.m. Teachers will be in their classrooms following the program in the gym. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teacher, along with bringing in supplies and paying book rental.

• Meridian Elementary: Starting at 5:30 p.m., a parent meeting will be held in the gym. Meridian teachers and staff will be introduced as well as PTO officers for the 2019-20 school year. The PTO will sponsor an Ice Cream Social. Visitation to classrooms will take place after the parent meeting.

• Staunton Elementary: From 5–6 p.m. Class lists will be posted and students will have the opportunity to meet their classroom teacher. Also, the open house will provide an opportunity to pay book rental.

• Van Buren Elementary: From 5–6 p.m. Kindergarten Parent Orientation will be held the same evening starting at 4:30 p.m.

Immunizations

Don’t forget about your child’s up-to-date shot record when enrolling for school. All pre-school, kindergarten and students new to Clay Community Schools should bring a copy of their completed immunization record to school when enrolling.
