UPDATE FOUND: Officials confirm missing girl located Wednesday

Officials confirmed Thursday afternoon Chloe Mackey had been located.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department issued a press release to numerous media outlets asking the public to help locate the missing 15-year old teenager Tuesday, while friends and family members took to social media to spread the word.

It was believed she might be in either Clay or Vigo county.

Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Josh Clarke said Mackey was located in Vigo County and returned to her parents on Wednesday, and that “Miss Mackey has been removed from the nationwide database and is no longer believed to be in danger."

MISSING GIRL: Officials seeking information about a missing Clay County girl (Oct. 22, 2019)

Officials believe a missing 15-year old girl might be in either Clay or Vigo county, and they are asking the public for assistance.

Clay County Sheriff’s Office confirms Chloe Mackey was last seen early Monday morning. Chloe is described as 5’4” with blonde hair and blue eyes. She could be wearing a blue and white Adidas hoodie and blue pants.

Although it is believed Mackey is a possible runaway, and officials are taking the case seriously.

Family and friends of Mackey have also created and sent out several posts on social media seeking help in locating the teenager.

Anyone with information about Mackey’s whereabouts is asked to call the Clay County Dispatch Center at (812)446-2535, Ext. 5.
