STAUNTON SCENE Oct. 26, 2019

Saturday, October 26, 2019

This Sunday (October 27), the Fall season will be celebrated with Staunton’s Annual 4-Corner Event. The four-way stop in the center of town will be the site of a festival of food, games, and fun for everyone, especially the children.

The event is sponsored by the Staunton Town Board, and participants contributing to it include the Posey Township Fire Department, the Community Center Lady Volunteers, Staunton Christian Church, and Staunton United Methodist Church.

The event is free; all we ask is that you bring a canned or packaged food item for the United Methodist Church Community Food Pantry. The hours are 4:00 to 7:00 this Saturday, and all residents of Staunton are invited to attend.

STAUNTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Sunday morning church service begins at about 10:45. Kevin Timberman is our Pastor.

The Staunton United Methodist Food Pantry is open in the church basement from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month. The upcoming Food Pantry day is next Wednesday, October 30. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. As always, thanks to all the folks at Staunton Christian Church, Knightsville United Methodist Church, Staunton Elementary School, and other churches, schools, civic organizations, local merchants, and individuals for your continuing support of this important mission.

STAUNTON FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by morning worship service at 10:30. Mark Miller is the minister. Wee Worship meets at 10:30 in the Educational Wing. Children’s Church meets with adult worship until after the offering is taken, when they dismiss to their classroom.

Keep praying for all those who are battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families. Also remember to pray for all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals, and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone, and pray for everyone.
