The following letter was issued by the Clay Community School Corporation regarding their response to the COVID-19 outbreak and plans for continued student success as eLearning is implemented:

Dear CCS Family & Community:

As the world deals with the Coronavirus crisis, CCS continues to develop plans to serve our most valuable asset, our students. CCS will be on spring break March 23 – 27. As per Governor Holcomb’s mandate, schools will be closed for the next several weeks; therefore, CCS will provide eLearning days utilizing the following schedule:

· The first eLearning day after spring break will be held on Thursday, April 2.

· On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, during the Week of March 30, teachers will be developing eLearning plans and will be available, via email and other electronic means, to respond to students and parents from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (office hours).

· Beginning the week of April 6, students will have eLearning days every Tuesday and Thursday, until notified otherwise.

o During these weeks, teachers will maintain office hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Beginning the week after spring break, grab-&-go sack breakfasts and lunches will be available for all CCS students.

· These will be available on TUESDAYS from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Clay City Elementary, Forest Park Elementary, and Meridian Elementary.

· Students will receive 5 grab-&-go breakfasts and lunches.

· Again, these will be available on Tuesdays ONLY.

As you know, our plans are certainly subject to change, and we will provide you with updates as necessary; therefore, we greatly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support! We will continue to work for the best interests of our entire school family and community!

Sincerely,

Jeffery D. Fritz

CCS Superintendent
