Athlete’s name: Kambree Lucas

Sport: Northview girls tennis

Years participating in the sport: 4 years

Parents/Guardians: Lori and Marshall Lucas

Future plans: I plan on attending UTM (University of Tennessee at Martin) on a scholarship to play beach and indoor volleyball. I want to major in forensics or medicine. After graduation, I hope to enroll in Officer Candidate School and serve in the armed forces.

Favorite memory: Last year’s match against Terre Haute South. Having the opportunity to play someone so talented and putting every last bit of energy into the match was something unforgettable. Having this experience reminded me why I love the sport so much.

Biggest inspiration: I learned that at some point you have to play for something bigger than yourself, and that’s made all the difference. Being so close to having the game taken away from me with volleyball made me even more determined for a comeback this tennis season. Knowing that I have the opportunity to play when some can’t or never knowing when a season could get cut short is inspiring enough to always give 110% every day.

What you love most about your team: Northview tennis is not just a group of girls who play with each other, it’s genuinely a family. The girls are a huge support system and the coaches helped me become the person and athlete that I am today. Coach Goff has not only helped me become physically stronger, but also stronger mentally. For that, I am forever grateful.

Coach Emily Goff on Lucas: Kambree is a hard worker, great tennis player and volleyball player, and has been a pleasure to coach. She is very coachable and an all-around great athlete!
