And the free lunch rush gets bigger each week

Thursday, May 14, 2020

Volunteers at the American Legion Post #2, 10 North Depot Street, Brazil, confirmed they upped the number of lunches available to give away last Friday, May 8, to more than 600 pulled-pork sandwiches and seasoned greenbeans. If the greenbeans ran out, bags of potato chips were waiting to be swapped in to fill the containers for the early birds lining up before the event started at noon. On May 1, the volunteers handed out more than 200 grilled tenderloins lunches during 30 minutes before noon. The American Legion is expecting to reopen for normal business hours (noon-9 p.m.) Wednesday, May 13. Volunteers will be providing free pulled-pork lunches from noon until gone Friday, May 15.
