Law enforcement officers from five agencies had a busy Wednesday afternoon in Clay and surrounding counties during a felony warrant sweep to round up alleged local drug dealers.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department confirmed 16 warrants were issued Wednesday by Clay Superior and Circuit courts, and 12 of the wanted individuals are currently in custody.
Officers continued searching Thursday for four individuals wanted on felony drug-related charges of Dealing methamphetamine and Possession of methamphetamine, including:
Dennis Alan Stevens, 34, Brazil
Joseph Adkins, 43, Staunton
Teresa Pipes, 50, Brazil
Dustin Halfacre, 33, Brazil
Clay County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Josh Clarke said anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these wanted individuals is encouraged to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 812-446-2535, extension 5.
“The war on criminal activity involving drugs is always happening, so investigations into these cases are always ongoing,” said Clarke. “We ask the public for their patience. Although we respond to the calls, and might not be able to make an arrest that day, we are working toward that goal daily. It just takes time.”
Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by members of the Brazil Poilce Department, Clay City Police Departmen, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Indiana State Police as the warrant sweep was conducted Wednesday evening that led to the arrest of 12 local drug dealers.
