Election Day is here, and Clay County continues to break early voting records

Clay County set a new early voting record for the second straight Saturday on Oct. 31, with 675 votes cast.

The previous single-day record had been set on Oct. 24 with 536.

Clay County has 18,949 registered voters. Election clerk Anola Gallion said the total of early voting and mail ballots received totaled more than 5,000 through Saturday.

The final early voting session took place on Monday morning at the Clay County Election Office.

No voting will take place at the courthouse today, but eight different sites spread throughout Clay County will be utilized.
