COVID-19 UPDATE:County remains at orange level; two more deaths

According to COVID-19 data available from the Indiana State Department of Health during the first two weeks of December, 308 positive cases were identified in Clay County among the 2,096 residents tested.

This brings the total of positive cases in the county to 1,659 since the beginning of the pandemic in March.

Two new deaths due to COVID-19 complications were also reported to the ISDH.

County remains at orange level; two more deaths

As of December 16, the county remains in the ORANGE advisory category, with a two-week metric score of 2.5 using the prior data from November 16-30, 2020.

The advisory category which determines the rate of virus spread within a county during two weeks - is updated weekly on the ISDH website (cornoavirus.in.gov).

The 7-Day positivity Rate among all tests and the weekly cases per residents are used to determine this data.

Clay County is currently trending downward for the positive COVID-19 tests.

However, state and local health department officials continue to encourage residents to do their due diligence to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to wear face masks, practice good hygiene and handwashing, and maintain a social distance of 6-feet in public places.
