SUBMITTED IMAGE - "Jordan's Way" is live-streaming a fundraising event this Thursday (5-9 p.m., January 28) to benefit the Clay County Humane Society. More details are expected to be announced over the next two days.

The Clay County Humane Society Shelter and Rescue will have a special event this Thursday from 5-9 p.m., as the founder and CEO of “Jordan’s Way,” Kris Rotonda, will be livestreaming a Clear The Shelter Event.

The event will be livestreamed on the CCHS and Jordan’s Way Facebook pages.

Rotonda's charity provides a four-hour online event to bring public awareness about local shelters, showcasing the facilities, the workers, the available dogs and cats, along with fun events. Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham is willing to take a pie in the face as a fundraising event.

Rotonda was recently at the Parke-Vermillion shelter, who referred the local shelter to be added to a 50 state tour. Rotonda is currently in the Indiana and Michigan areas attempting to do at least 16 fundraisers in eight days.

"This has happened so fast; we haven't decided on where the money will go," said board member Toni Carter, who admits there at lots of options. "The mayor, if we raise enough funds, getting a pie in the face would be nice."

The shelter is always in need of equipment, funds to cover medical expenses, and the spay and neuter program.

A fundraising goal has yet to be set, but Carter said everyone is excited about "Jordan's Way" arrival Thursday.

According to the "Jordan's Way" Facebook page, Rotonda's dog Jordan inspired him:

"We all love our dogs, but my dog Jordan inspired me to change the world. Did you know that a vast majority of shelters don't have enough food to regularly feed the animals there? In Jordan's memory, I am on a 50-State Tour to benefit these shelters!"

"We hope a lot of people will not only watch the program but get involved in the fundraising event," said Carter. "And the fun."
