Clay City-Northview boys' basketball game canceled, Eels ending regular season Feb. 16

Wednesday, February 10, 2021

In an effort to stay healthy for the upcoming high school boys basketball sectional, Clay City announced it will play its final four Southwestern Indiana Conference games as scheduled before ending the regular season on Feb. 16, giving the Eels a two-week break before the start of the postseason.

Because of this, the game between Northview and Clay City, previously scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19, has been canceled. Northview offered to play the game on Monday, Feb. 15, to get the game in before the two-week window, but Clay City declined.

A Saturday afternoon game with Riverton Parke was also canceled.

The Eels will play North Daviess Thursday in a game postponed twice from Tuesday. Their remaining regular-season games are:

Feb. 11 - North Daviess (H, 7 p.m. varsity tipoff)

Feb. 12 - North Central (Homecoming, 7:30 p.m. varsity tipoff)

Feb. 13 - at Shakamak (7:30 p.m. varsity start)

Feb. 16 - at White River Valley (7:30 p.m. varsity start)

Homecoming weekend

Clay City and Northview both play homecoming games this weekend.

The Eels host North Central Friday night for Homecoming, while the Knights host Martinsville Saturday and will celebrate Homecoming then. With Clay County currently in orange, there will be 25 percent attendance allowed.
