TOP STORY OF THE DAY, brought to you free by WICU: Local educator, author publishes novel; all proceeds going to Launch Academy

Friday, March 5, 2021

Life-long Clay County educator Pamela Schopmeyer Fischer has published her first book, which is now available at several local outlets and on Amazon.com.

Fischer’s book is titled “Hello My Name is Pam!” with a subtitle of “Life can be a roller coaster of a ride!”

Fischer will be on hand for a book signing at Launch Academy in Brazil (100 N. Forest Ave.) on Saturday, March 13 from 2-4 p.m.

In the book, Fischer takes readers on an incredible journey — a roller coaster ride of life — and tells of things that could only happen to her.

“You will laugh and cry and see how God has worked in her life through each incline, descent and a curve that comes her way on a fast-paced ride called life,” promotional material for the book states.

Life can be an amusement park of experiences, and with Pam Fischer those experiences are well worth a read and a thoughtful look at how God intervenes in our everyday lives if we only let Him.

Raising four kids with her husband through 39 years of working on educational degrees, teaching swimming, tutoring young kids, teaching at elementary schools and opening up a pre-school experience called Launch Academy might sound like a normal life for some — but with Fischer, nothing is normal. You also won’t want to miss all the vacation adventures where anything that could go wrong, does.

Fischer holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an early childhood endorsement and holds a master’s degree in counseling K-12 plus an additional 30 hours of advanced education. She is the mother of four adult children and has been married for 39 years.

Her book is available at Launch Academy, Lynn’s Pharmacy, A&B Farmhouse, Brazil Moose Lodge #780, New Elegance Salon and Spa, Bushel and a Peck and online at Amazon.com.

Proceeds from “Hello My Name is Pam!” go to the Launch Academy, a pre-school experience designed and created by Fischer.
