MONDAY'S COVID-19 UPDATE: Clay remains yellow; two more deaths listed

On Monday, the Indiana State Department of Health confirms two more existing COVID-19 deaths were confirmed and reported on Thursday, May 6, bringing the total to 47 deaths in Clay County since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic began in 2020.

Clay County remains in the YELLOW category of the Weekly 2-Metric Score.

Wabash Valley has four counties currently in the YELLOW Advisory category on the ISDH COVID-19 Dashboard, including Clay (score of 1.5), Greene, Owen, and Vermillion counties (all with scores of 1). Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, and Vigo counties currently remain in the BLUE category with scores of .5.

The levels determining the spread of the COVID-19 virus are:

RED - High Spread,

ORANGE - Medium Spread,

YELLOW - Mild Spread, and

BLUE - Light Spread.

ISDH evaluates County Metrics each Wednesday at noon. Advisory level refers to the current guidelines the county must follow. A county must remain at a lower Weekly Two-Metric Score for two consecutive weeks to move down to a lower advisory level.
