During Clay City’s Regional championship celebration at the softball field, the school also honored its Class of 2020 players — Stella Harrison, Jalynn Scott, Hayley Walton, Alisha Ledgerwood and Kendra Wertz — that were unable to suit up for the Lady Eels during their senior seasons due to COVID-19 forcing the IHSAA to cancel the high school spring sports seasons.
“[They’re] just great kids,” said Clay City coach Jason Sinders. “They put in a ton of time. Just sucks for all of the seniors last year.”
