MONDAY's COVID-19 update: Cases rising in every state; most new patients are unvaccinated

Health officials confirm that all 50 states are experiencing a rise in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations are increasing and most new patients are unvaccinated.

According to the Indiana State Health Department’s Monday data, the demographics of those testing positive for COVID-19 are 46.4% male and 52.8% female.

The subcategories for positive COVID-19 cases by the ISDH are divided as follows:

Children age 0-17 is 11.4%, with ages 12-17 at 6.4%,

Teenagers age 18-19 are 4%,

Young adults age 20-29 are 18.5%,

Adults 30-39 at 15.5%,

40-49 at 15.1%,

50-59 at 14.4%,

60-69 at 10.8%,

70-79 at 6.1%., and 80 and over at 4.2%.

According to Clay County Health Nurse Kim Hyatt, two cases are confirmed. Still, the Indiana State Health Department has not organized how they will share upcoming data with local health departments or on the state dashboard (https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/).
