CYFL Check-in: Week 6 edition

The 2021 CYFL Pee Wee regular season wrapped up on Saturday.

Game one featured the Kreyton Strong Panthers and the Dairy Queen Ducks.

The Panthers and their stout defense completed the season sweep by defeating the Ducks 34-0.

Cruz Shepard was a monster on defense for the Panthers. He recorded eight tackles, five sacks and forced three fumbles. Colton Jones and Max Raetz each had three tackles. Grayson Forquer forced a fumble and Jack Dearth recovered three fumbles.

The Panthers spread the wealth offensively with five different players each recording a touchdown. Jack Dearth, Elias Nauman, Paxton Drury, Beau McGuffin and Colton Jones all reached the end zone.

Game two was a match between the Ace Hardware Bulldogs and the Riddell National Bank Lions.

The Bulldogs also completed the season sweep by defeating the Lions 21-6.

The game was scoreless after one quarter of play, but the Bulldogs took a 14-0 lead into halftime and then held off the Lions the rest of the way.

The killer Bs were back together for the Bulldogs. Bentley Bennett and Bentley McVeigh each had a rushing touchdown. McVeigh also connected with Bennett for a 10-yard touchdown pass.

Defensively, McVeigh led the way with seven tackles while Bennett added six. Jackson Pestoff recorded five tackles and a fumble recovery. Landon Pestoff recorded two tackles and a fumble recovery. Cale Cesinger, Cree Staley and Jaden Decker each had multiple tackles for the Bulldogs.

Next week the playoffs kickoff. The Panthers and the Bulldogs both finished with 5-1 records, however, the Panthers earned the top seed by allowing less points head-to-head against the Bulldogs 49-63.

Game one will feature the Kreyton Strong Panthers squaring off against the Dairy Queen Ducks at 10 a.m. followed by the Ace Hardware Bulldogs and the Riddell National Bank Lions at 11:30 a.m.
